Born and raised in Manitoba, Marilyn graduated with a B.Sc and worked in the I.T. field in several Canadian provinces. She has called Richmond home since 1991.
Following retirement, she became interested in decoupage. Self-taught, she developed her own special techniques for designing, applying the cut-outs and finishing the surfaces.The finish is built up through many applications of different types of varnish. Her work has practical applications and will last for a long period of time.
She wants to create, functional but fun "table art" such as coasters, trivets, napkin rings, serving trays etc. Many of the coaster sets fit together like a puzzle.
Her time is spent between her decoupage craft, freelance writing and golf. Her pieces are available for sale at : marilynannbaker@gmail.com
